1It’s impossible to get a residence permit for Qatar without an employment contract and a local employer to act as a sponsor. 2Employees may work only for their sponsor. There is nothing called  ‘Free Visa’ and it is a punishable offense to work under someone who is not your sponsor. 3After two years with the sponsoring company, it is possible to change sponsors if granted a no objection certificate (NOC). 4In order to bring your families on family visa, you need a minimum of QR 10,000 as monthly salary. The visa is valid for one month. However, relatives who wish to stay beyond one month may undergo a medical examination to apply for an extension. If your monthly salary is over QR 10,000, your spouse and/or children are eligible for Family Residence Visas, under your sponsorship, once your residence visa and Qatar ID card have been issued. Before you begin the application process for Family Residence Visas, check with your employer to see if they make provision for these. Employers are not obliged to process or pay for Family Residence Visas, but some companies do take care of this process as part of their policy. If you are outside Qatar and have received a job offer Your company should now apply to the Ministry of Interior for a single entry visa which will be your temporary residence visa once you arrive. Your company’s PRO officer will handle the application process. Approval takes 4-8 weeks and your company will send you a copy of the scanned entry visa or you can print a copy from the Ministry of Interior website.
