The 14th Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition (DJWE), described as the region’s premier event of its kind, has opened at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC).
Held under the patronage of HE the Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani, the six-day event was formally opened by HE the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid al-Mahmoud.
HE the Minister of Economy and Commerce Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim bin Mohamed al-Thani, senior Qatari officials and several exhibitors were present.
Aside from an impressive lineup of over 400 international brands and 43 local and international exhibitors, this year’s edition promises a lot more with a number of new features in store for visitors.
“We have done great promotional and marketing activities to attract GCC and international guests. We have also forged partnership with Qatar Airways which has done a great job to number of visitors to the event,” Ahmed Al Obaidly, Director of Exhibitions at Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) told reporters at the launch event.
One of the longest running exhibitions and most anticipated event in Qatar, DJWE has seen huge turnout during its past editions.
Organised by QTA together with Auditoire, the exhibition runs until Saturday. Entry to the exhibition is free and reserved to visitors above 12 years old.
