LEGOLAND Dubai has unveiled a giant lego model of the Taj Mahal to celebrate Indian Independence Day on August 15, 2016.
The model is made from 280,741 lego bricks and weighs more than 645 kg.
While the real-life Taj Mahal took approximately 20 years to build, LEGOLAND Dubai’s tribute was built in 2,019 hours using white Lego bricks with accents of gold, black and red.
The theme park is finalising the installation of the first indoor, air-conditioned MINILAND area at a LEGOLAND Park, as it will be officially open on October 31, 2016 as part of Dubai Parks and Resorts.
MINILAND will feature recreations of iconic sights and landmarks, from the region and surrounding countries for visitors to see.
The mini Taj Mahal is the first landmark replica unveiled as part of MINILAND.
Legoland Dubai will have six themed areas, 15,000 Lego model structures with more than 40 rides, shows and attractions.
It is set to open on October 31 alongside Bollywood Parks Dubai, Motiongate Dubai and Legoland Water Park.
