A contingent of Armed Forces of United Arab Emirates (UAE) will become the first Arab soldiers to march during the Republic Day parade on January 26, ANI news agency reported.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, will be the chief guest at the Republic Day parade this year.
The contingent will march down Rajpath, as Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is scheduled to be the guest of honour on 68th Republic Day celebrations.
On Saturday the contingent took part in a rehearsal parade in the national capital.
The UAE Armed Forces will become the first Arab soldiers to join the military parade on India’s Republic Day.
It would be the second time when any foreign contingent will be participating in the parade on Republic Day.
Last year, a French contingent had joined the parade in honour of Francois Hollande, who was the chief guest.On Saturday the contingent took part in a rehearsal parade in the national capital.
