Kalyan Jewellers, a leading jewellery brand in the GCC region and India, has announced its foray into Qatar.
The company is making a grand entry by opening seven showrooms in Doha on a single day, marking the largest number of showrooms inaugurated in a day in the company’s history.
Kalyan Jewellers’ global brand ambassador and film icon Amitabh Bachchan will inaugurate the showrooms in his maiden visit to Qatar on Friday, March 25. He will be accompanied by popular brand ambassadors and film stars Nagarjuna, Prabhu Ganesan and Manju Warrier for the launch.
73-year old Bachchan is perhaps the most popular Bollywood star ever, with fan following even among Arab fraternity.
The seven stores that will be inaugurated across the country are :
- HBK Signal – Al Watan Centre
- Barwa Village – Building No 12, Shop No 38&40
- Al Rayyan – Shop No 14, Al Shafi Street
- Gharaffa – Shop No. 11. Lulu Hypermarket
- Al Khor – Shop No 56, Al Khor Mall
- Abu Hamour – Safari Mall
- Asian Town – Plaza Mall
Kalyan expanding its presence in GCC
Kalyan has been steadily expanding its presence in the GCC region since it launched its international operations. In two years the company has opened over 40 showrooms in India and the GCC region.
Kalyan Jewellers is also slated to achieve a milestone of 100 showrooms by the first half of the year, the company said in a press statement.
‘’We have registered a healthy double digit growth rate in our business in the GCC and believe that the Qatar presence is critical for us to push the GCC share of the group turnover to the 40% mark, which is our medium-term target,” said T S Kalyanaraman, chairman and managing director of Kalyan Jewellers.
“Qatar is a robust retail market of $12.4bn, driven by a growing population and an increasing expatriate population. We also believe that the country’s affinity for luxury goods makes it a compelling proposition for Kalyan, given our strong portfolio of high-end fashion jewellery as well as jewellery for daily wear in contemporary and traditional motifs.’’
Earlier, Kalyan had made an emphatic entry into the GCC region by launching six showrooms on a single day in the UAE.
