India’s music legend AR Rahman – also known as the ‘Mozart of Madras’ – is all set to rock the stage at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Friday 17th March, 2017.
It is after a hiatus of seven years that Rahman is staging an event in UAE. This opportunity is being offered to innumerable local fans, including the diaspora.
The music and orchestral arrangements will be embellished by technical razzmattaz, sophisticated gadgetry, lasers, and kinetic backdrop.
The music maestro is well-known for blending Indian classical music traditions with western orchestral sounds and electronica.
He has penned countless songs for films in Bollywood and Hollywood, and also won the Academy Award for his hit song ‘Jai Ho’ from Slumdog Millionaire.
With numerous achievements and awards under his belt, the legend, A.R. Rahman will enchant the UAE audience with some of his old hits, along with the new ones, he announced at a recent press conference held for the event in Dubai.

“UAE was the first to give us a successful concert back in 1997-98,” the Oscar-winning music composer told Gulf News tabloid!.
“I still get people coming to me and saying ‘Oh I was at the first Dubai show’. So it was a very important show for us at that time and when I come back here, I’m always reminded of that beautiful moment,” he said.
“I have been asked to do mostly South Indian songs, so it’ll be mostly Tamil and a couple of Malayalam songs, and of course, there will be Hindi too,” he said while talking to City Times in Dubai.
Club FM UAE 99.6, a popular radio station in UAE from the Mathrubhumi Group, will host Mathrubhumi – AR Rahman Live 2017 concert.
