UAE will join India in celebrating its 68th Republic Day with a spectacular illumination of the iconic Burj Khalifa with the colours of the Indian national flag.

The visual expression of the tri-colours will underline the solidarity of the UAE and its people with India, with which the nation shares strong cultural and trade ties.

The illumination will be held today (January 25, a day prior to India’s Republic Day), as well as tomorrow (January 26).

The LED show will be at 6:15pm, 7:15pm and 8:15pm on both days with The Dubai Fountain performance complementing the grand illumination.

“Tonight we celebrate India’s 68th Republic Day with a spectacular LED illumination of the Indian National flag on #BurjKhalifa! #India,” the official Twitter account of Burj Khalifa tweeted in both English and Arabic languages.

The building in Dubai, which stands at 823 metres, was named in honour of the ruler of Abu Dhabi and president of the United Arab Emirates Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
