The decision to include residents from different countries in the Qatar National Day celebrations at Darb Al Saai reflects the pride expressed by His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani in citizens and residents during his historic speech at United Nations recently.

The meeting with ambassadors and representatives of embassies was attended by HE the Minister of Culture and Sports Salah bin Ghanem bin Nasser al-Ali, who is also the head of the National Day organising committee.

“These activities take a special importance because it highlights the unity between expats and Qataris,” he said while stressing the keenness of Qatar to show positive contributions of expats in the light of strong relations which binds Qatar with other brotherly and friendly countries.

The new activity has been named ‘Masirat Al Sadaqah’ (Journey of Friendship) and represents the environment and historical context of solidarity between Qataris and expats.
