Hamad International Airport (HIA) has started levying charges at its 2,540-car capacity long-term parking area.
The rate is QR45 per day (or for every completed 24 hours) or QR2 per hour (or any part thereof), according to the information provided on official website.
According to a Gulf Times report, the daily fee for long-term parking at the old Doha International Airport was QR50.
Payment booths had been built at the entrance of the long-term parking area, which has dedicated slots for people with disabilities and a separate designated parking area of about 1,000 slots for HIA employees.
In a press statement issued in April, HIA said passengers could pay either by cash or credit card at any of the booths upon their exit from the car park.
Besides the free shuttle service and six air-conditioned waiting kiosks, HIA also announced earlier that it would introduce other amenities in the coming months.
