The Government of India has named new ambassador for the State of Qatar to replace Sanjeev Arora.
P Kumaran has been appointed as the next Indian ambassador, it was announced on Friday by India’s Ministry of External Affairs.
Kumaran, a member of the Indian Foreign Service batch of 1992, is presently joint secretary in the ministry.
“He is expected to take up his assignment shortly,” a brief press release on the ministry website said.
Sanjeev Arora of 1984 IFS batch, is the Indian ambassador to Qatar since 2012. Before coming to Doha, Mr. Arora was Consul General of India in Houston, USA for four years.
The Embassy of India, Doha was established in the State of Qatar in 1971. It promotes political, economic and commercial relations between the Republic of India and the State of Qatar.
