Indian Embassy in Qatar seeks details of students waiting for admission

The Indian Embassy in Qatar has announced it is collecting details of students waiting for admission to any of the Indian schools.

A statement issued by the Embassy on Monday said it has received a number of requests for assistance, citing non-availability of seats in Indian schools in Doha.

“In order to take up the issue with the Supreme Education Council, Ministry of Education, we need to get a better sense of the number of children who have failed to get admission in an Indian school in Doha,” the statement said.

The details should be emailed the Embassy at: doha.admission@gmail.com

As per the statement, parents are requested furnish the following details:

As the admission season draws to a close, worries of parents who have yet not succeeded in getting their kids admitted in any school are aggravating. The new academic year in Indian schools is set to start from April.

According to a report on The Peninsula, the problems regarding the admission in Indian schools started after a prominent school with the capacity to accommodate a very large number of students was asked by the authorities to reduce their strength to the sanctioned number set by the ministry.

Even though many new Indian schools have opened up in the past couple of years they were not able to absorb the students as they are much smaller in size and few of them are in higher fees category, the report added.
