An Indian expatriate became the new multi-millionaire of Big Ticket raffles after winning AED 12 million (Rs 23 crore), the biggest jackpot of Big Ticket raffle in Abu Dhabi.
George Mathew, who purchased ticket number 175342 at Big Ticket Abu Dhabi, was announced as the winner of the bumper prize on Monday.
“It has been last 6 months since I started purchasing Big Ticket along with my 6 friends and finally it is our lucky day today. I am really happy and surprised as well by the call from Big Ticket. God blessed me after with 12 Million Dirhams and thank you Big Ticket Team for such wonderful news,” he said.
George Mathew, who lives in Ajman with his family since last 9 years, works for Gulf News.
The Dream 12 Million Raffle Draw Series 195 was announced Monday morning at the Abu Dhabi International Airport’s arrivals hall at 10am.
Interestingly, all the six prizes of this draw were won by Indians. Here are the winners:
1st – AED 12,000,000 – George Mathew (India)
2nd – AED 100,000 – Sulfikharali Palassery (India)
3rd – AED 90,000 – Moize Shaikh (India)
4th – AED 80,000 – Kaitharath Joseph Francis (India)
5th – AED 70,000 – Abdul Saleel Chirakkandathil Aliyar (India)
6th – AED 60,000 – Pooja Shah (India)
7th – AED 50,000 – Omanakuttan Narayanan (India)
This was the third time such a grand prize money was rewarded by Big Ticket organisers as January’s Big Ticket draw was the first biggest-ever with a grand prize money of AED 12 million followed by April’s draw with similar prize money.
In January, an Indian expatriate, Hari Krishnan became a multimillionaire after winning AED 12 million, the jackpot of Big Ticket raffle.
In April, another Indian expatriate, John Varughese also won AED 12 million jackpot, which he shared with four friends who pooled in the ticket price.
