An Indian expatriate has hit what could be the biggest jackpot in the history of millionaire raffle draws in the UAE.

Dubai-based Indian national, Sarath Purushothaman, who had purchased ticket no. 083733 at Big Ticket Abu Dhabi, was announced as the winner of the bumper prize, Dhs 15 million (Rs 28.6 crore).

The second price, Dhs 100,000 was won by another Indian, Jinachandran Vazhoor Narayanan with ticket number 107150.

Shahid Fareed with ticket number 002528 from Pakistan was declared the proud owner of the new BMW Series 4.

Eight Indians, one Pakistani and one Fiji national were among the winners at the raffle today.
Sarath, who hails from the South Indian state of Kerala, had purchased the winning ticket on 12th of December 2018.

When the organisers contacted him on the phone, he first thought it was a prank. The organisers had to call him one more time to confirm that the announcement was legitimate.
