The number of Indian expatriates in Qatar has reached an all-time high of 691,000, the Indian Ambassador to Qatar has revealed.
Speaking at a function on the occasion of ‘Bharat Utsav – A Journey through Festive Celebrations of India’, Indian ambassador P Kumaran also thanked the government of Qatar for the great support extended to the community.
“We are the largest expatriate community in Qatar with the number of Indians reaching 691,000 as of now. The Indian community would like to express our gratitude to the leadership of Qatar for the great patronage given to the country,” Gulf Times reported the Ambassador as having said.
The envoy also said that there will be some high-level participation of leading performers from India to celebrate the Qatar-India Year of Culture which will be marked next year.
