Popular Bollywood star Kajol Devgan was in Doha yesterday as part of a promotional campaign by OMO, Unilever’s fabric cleaning brand. Kajol is the brand ambassador for OMO.
The winners of the campaign were announced yesterday at the W Hotel & Residences in Doha’s West Bay.
Kajol also made a special appearance at the Lulu hypermarket on the D Ring road along with the winners.
OMO’s ‘Dirt is good,’ campaign argues that dirt equates to creativity among children. The campaign encourages parents to give their child the freedom to explore and develop new experiences by encouraging outdoor play.
Many parents in Doha got a chance to win money to fund their child’s upbringing, on purchase of 3Kg OMO powder pack or 1.5L bottle of liquid detergent.
“I am very proud to be part of a campaign that supports parents while also encouraging them to set their children free to learn, thrive and grow. As a mom myself, I support OMO’s message of child development and this cause is very close to my heart,” Kajol told The Peninsula.
In reply to a query how such campaigns can help bringing a change, she said: “I don’t believe a small campaign can change everything, but I believe that every little thing we do adds a little bit to the change, it cannot happen in one day, one year or may be in ten years, but every little bit that we do matters. And brands like OMO, I really respect the fact that they can come out and do this small step.”
