The eighth edition of Qatar International Food Festival (QIFF) will be held at Hotel Park in front of The Sheraton Hotel Doha from 29 March to 8 April 2017.
Qatar Tourism Authority (QTA) has extended the festival from one week to 11 days “to offer residents and visitors a flavourful spring break, where culinary delights of every kind can be enjoyed: from gourmet to authentic local dishes and experiences.”
According to QTA, QIFF’s schedule falls within school holidays in the region to help attract more visitors from neighbouring GCC countries.
This year, the much-awaited culinary festival introduces a new menu for residents and visitors to enjoy.
Restaurants across Qatar can take part in QIFF within their premises by offering special QIFF set menus.
- Participating restaurants and cafes will be offering a special QIFF Menu from March 23 to April 8, which will feature their signature dishes at discounted prices.
- With four set prices of QR59, QR99, QR139, QR179, and multiple cuisines represented, the menu will offer something special for all taste buds.
Chef Table Events
The festival will also feature a series of Chef’s Table events at select five-star hotel restaurants, providing residents and visitors an opportunity to enjoy special live cooking and dining experiences with internationally-acclaimed chefs.
“In addition to bringing Qatar’s five-star food and beverage options together in one location, QIFF provides a great opportunity for residents and visitors to revel in Qatar’s wonderful spring weather, enticing cultural activities and outdoor entertainment,” said Hassan al-Ibrahim, QTA’s chief tourism development officer.
The first edition of QIFF was organised in 2010 at the Doha Exhibition Center. Over the years, QIFF has grown to become one of Qatar’s most popular festivals, receiving a record-breaking 200,000 visitors in its 2016 edition.
In 2016, Qatar saw 305,014 visitors during the QIFF in March, the highest number of visitor arrivals to be recorded in a single month
