The first hospital of Aster DM Healthcare in Qatar has started receiving patients since Thursday.
The 50-bed Aster Hospital, with advanced facilities and emergency services, is situated near the Old Airport intersection facing D-Ring Road (behind Family Food Centre).
The hospital has Operation Theatres, Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU), Gastroenterology Unit and Day Surgery.
Aster Hospital will have 16 outpatient clinics with different specialities like orthopaedics, gastroenterology, urology, obstetrics and gynaecology, dental and maxillofacial, general surgery along with general medicine, ENT, paediatrics and neonatology.
- It has spacious private rooms, consultation rooms, and 24-hour lab and pharmacy.
- The obstetrics and gynaecology department includes two delivery rooms, a Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICU) and Well baby nursery.
- The diagnostic services include an advanced MRI unit, CT scan and digital X-ray, including pathology services including an advanced laboratory and a 24-hour pharmacy.
The hospital structure was completed in a record time of 18 months. It will soon implement the Hospital Information system (HIS) which will have all patient records available electronically.
Dr Sameer Moopan, Chief Executive Officer of Aster DM Healthcare- Qatar said, “We are pleased to open our dream, the first Aster Hospital in Qatar. Our aim is to be a comprehensive medical service provider with primary and secondary care to our customers. I invite everyone to take a tour of the hospital facility.”
According to Nikhil Joseph, senior manager at Aster DM Healthcare – Qatar, the hospital will provide services such as general medicine, paediatrics and gynaecology at the night clinic. “We will need some more time to be fully operational and all the inpatient services will be open within a month or so,” he explained while speaking to Gulf Times.
“The outpatient facility is fully operational. There are about 15 doctors working in the department. All the staff members have been recruited and the hospital will have more than 200 staff when fully operational. We hope to have the official opening sometime in September,” he continued.
“We have approval from almost all the leading insurance firms. Now, we have to submit to them the official price list from the Ministry of Public Health. Once the prices are approved, all the insurance facilities will be available for visitors,” he added.
