Qatar’s MES Indian School announces details of new shift system


MES Indian School, the biggest of its kind in Qatar, has announced that the school will be operating in two shifts from the academic year 2019-2020 as approved by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.

The school has also revealed the details of the shift system that will be implemented from April 2019.

According to a tweet by the school, the morning session will run from Sunday to Thursday while the afternoon shift will be from Saturday to Thursday.

“We are happy to inform you that we will commence shift system in our school as approved by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, State of Qatar,” the tweet said.

As per the information, the school will have morning shift from 6.45am to 1pm and afternoon shift will be from 2pm to 7pm.

  • The morning shift will be for KG1, KG2, Junior students (classes 1 to 4 for both boys and girls) and for girls from classes 5 to 12.
  • The afternoon shift will be only for boys from classes 5 to 12.

The school has also made school transportation mandatory for the evening session on account of security reasons.

Recently, three Indian schools had received approval to run afternoon shifts from next academic year. Apart from MES, the schools that have been granted approval to have an additional shift are: Ideal Indian School, and Shantiniketan Indian School.

  1. This is very impractical solution to overcome shortage admission. Second shift from 1:00PM to 8:00PM , including transportation time actually impact student’s performance and future growth. Should not be accepted by parents.

    hello you have been told that boys 5 to 12 will be in afternoon shift and others will be in morning shift then why you all were calling and telling us that all admissions are for afternoon shift only please reply us
