Rush for admission disrupts school website

The high demand for school admissions in Qatar has resulted in the disruption of Birla Public School’s website.

The BPS Doha website had earlier announced that pre-registration to KG1 would open on 17th November at 8 pm. It was also mentioned that since the number of seats were limited, the system will stop automatically once the number is reached.

In order not to loss the opportunity, parents started logging to the website much before the scheduled time, which resulted in its disruption due to heavy traffic.

Much to the disappointment of parents, the website remained inaccessible late in to the night.

Later on, the school management posted a message on their Facebook page : “Due to heavy load on the school website service was disrupted. We shall take the decision and put up on the website.”

The website is functional now, but online pre-registration is not accessible. The parents will have to wait and see how the school decides to proceed with admission.

Getting admission to Indian Schools in Doha have become an uphill task for parents as the number of seats are limited and demand is high. Even though the next academic year is many months away, many schools have already closed their registration to KG classes.
