Sharjah Police to issue driving license online, No more manual applications

The Sharjah Police has started issuing driving licences online via the MOI website, a statement on the official website said.

  • Licences will also be issued via the smart application UAE MOI.
  • Manual application for driving license will no longer be entertained.
  • Payment has to be made online.

With the new service, applicants can easily apply for the service without the need to approach Vehicles and Drivers’ Licensing Dept.
All they have to do is to log in to MOI site or UAE MOI application and follow instructions.

How the new system works

  1. Once motorists pass their final road test, they have to apply via the Ministry of Interior’s website or via UAE MOI mobile app.
  2. Fee payment has to be made online. The Traffic and Licensing Department will not receive any payments in person.
  3. The license will be delivered by courier.

This is being done in a bid to improve customer services and offer the public an easy access to smart services, the statement said.

“Driving licences will now only be issued online and will not be handed over to motorists in person,” said an official at Sharjah Police, who also pointed out that the new e-service was launched to ease the process of obtaining licences.

The ministry of interior’s application can also be downloaded on mobile phones.
