Gandhi Jayanti: Burj Khalifa to have special LED show

Dubai’s iconic Burj Khalifa on Tuesday will showcase special LED screenings to mark the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of Mahatma Gandhi. The special LED show, jointly organised by the Indian Embassy, Abu Dhabi, Indian Consulate in Dubai and Emaar Properties, will take place at 8:20pm and 8:40pm on Tuesday, the consulate announced. India to be Guest of Honour at Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2019

The Department of Tourism – Abu Dhabi has announced that India will be the guest of honour at next year’s Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF). The fair, which runs from April 24-30 2019, will celebrate cultural and literary output in the UAE, while also embracing Indian literature, music, cinema and dance. An Indian Pavilion will host authors and literary scholars who will discuss the culture of their country. UAE extends aid to Kerala floods relief

UAE, India discuss bilateral cooperation

Abu Dhabi’s Adnoc considers investment in Indian refinery

Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. is looking into acquiring a stake in an Indian refinery as it plans to invest $45 billion at home to expand its Ruwais refining and petrochemicals complex. The government energy producer known as Adnoc is considering, among other business opportunities, joining Saudi Aramco in a potential investment in the Ratnagiri refinery project in India, Chief Executive Officer Sultan Al Jaber said in an interview with Bloomberg Television in Abu Dhabi. Adnoc also plans to invest $45 billion over five years to expand the Ruwais complex’s refining capacity by more than 65 percent, or 600,000 barrels a day, by 2025, Al Jaber said earlier in Abu Dhabi. Mahatma Gandhi statue to be installed in Abu Dhabi

India Social and Cultural Centre (ISC) in Abu Dhabi will officially unveil the statue of Mahatma Gandhi, India’s Father of the Nation, on its premises on February 1. Indian Ambassador to the UAE, Navdeep Singh Suri, will unveil the statue in the presence of the Indian community. “I am so delighted that the ISC has decided to install a bust of the Father of the Nation on its premises, particularly at a time when ISC also celebrates its own Golden Jubilee. Indian PM to address NRI community at the Dubai Opera
