Metrash2 app is now available in six languages : Qatar MoI

Qatar’s Ministry of Interior has developed the  Metrash2 mobile application to be available in four more languages, taking the total to six languages. In addition to existing Arabic and English features, Metrash2 is now available in Spanish, French, Urdu and Malayalam. Additional services A new version of the app launched by the General Directorate of Information Systems (GDIS) at the MoI also provides access to a host of additional services, including community policing and features improvements to some of the existing services. Qatar driving licence can be renewed or replaced via Metrash2 : MoI

Motorists in Qatar can renew their driving licence through Metrash 2, the mobile application of the Ministry of Interior (MoI). According to a tweet from MoI, the renewal fee of QR250 can be paid online and the applicant can have the licence delivered at his doorstep by Q-Post by paying an additional fee of QR20. Expatriates seeking a “return visa” for people under personal sponsorship who have stayed out of the country for more than six months can now apply online or through Metrash 2, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said yesterday. This is among the three new online services launched by the General Directorate of Borders, Passports and Expatriates Affairs at the ministry on January 17. They can be accessed through Metrash2 mobile application and MoI web portal, the ministry said on its Twitter account. Metrash2 wins Best Smart Services App award among GCC countries

Metrash2 application of Qatar’s Ministry of Interior, developed by its General Directorate of Information Systems, has won the Best Smart Services Mobile Application award among GCC countries. The award was announced during the fourth GCC e-Government Award, Conference and Exhibition 2015 in Bahrain on November 25 and 26. The ministry participated in the conference and exhibition and introduced the app which provides over 100 services to the public. The award marks yet another achievement for the ministry and is in line with the Qatar Digital Government 2020 Strategy through the use of technology and the Internet to enhance service efficiency. The app is used by over 190,000 registered users, with more than 8,000 transactions daily. This award is presented to GCC government authorities which provide electronic information and services to the public through the Internet, the ministry said in a statement.
