The UAE private sector will get the first and second days of the month of Shawwal as official paid holidays on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr, said Saqr Ghobash, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation.
The UAE Ministry of Labour has declared that Eid Al Fitr holiday for all private sector employees will begin on the first and second days of Shawwal and will resume work on the third of Shawwal of the year 1437 AH.
This is expected to correspond with Wednesday (6 July) and Thursday (7 July), depending on the moon sighting.
As the weekend follows the Eid holidays, private sector employees will get 3 or 4 days in succession (including the weekend).

Earler, UAE Cabinet had approved Eid Al Fitr holiday for Ministries and Federal entities, starting from 28 of Ramadan 1437 Hijri year, corresponding to Sunday, July 3, with work resuming on Sunday, July 10, 2016.
The nine days holiday is counting the Friday and Saturday weekly offs that are before and after the five-day Eid week.
